Bridge Replacement Hearing Opens Comment Period

The North Carolina Department of Transportation will hold the first of two public hearings on the proposed Cape Fear Memorial Bridge replacement Monday, September 14. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., with the formal hearing beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Cape Fear Community College's Daniels Hall, 502 N. Front Street, Wilmington. A second hearing is scheduled for September 15 at the Leland Cultural Arts Center. The project concerns a regional connection between Brunswick and New Hanover counties. Residents may attend, view project information, and submit comments at the meetings or through NCDOT's public input process by October 15, 2026.
