Veterans Assistance Event Returns To Johnston

Operation Stand Down Rhode Island will hold its 34th annual Veteran Assistance Event Thursday, September 17, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Friday, September 18, from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM, at the Veteran Service Center, 1010 Hartford Avenue in Johnston. The event connects veterans with health, dental, substance abuse, employment, legal, housing, and other support services. Veterans and families who drive should park at the former Stop & Shop location at 11 Commerce Way, where shuttle service will run to the event. RIPTA Route 28 also stops near Hartford and Bordon Avenues.
